The HIGH Program award helped me avoid eviction from my home. Being an independent student is one of the hardest things that I’ve ever had to face. Among a series of unfortunate events, I dealt with the continuous ultimatum of devoting the time needed to work for bills or devoting the needed time for my Computer Science curriculum. With this award I was able to successfully finish this semester as well as keep my home, while putting me in the best position to continue on the path to my degree. Although the road is never easy, the HIGH Program has given me the boost to persevere! Next semester is graduation!!
