Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (Food Assistance Program)
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services "" Conner Service Center has committed two case workers that will help currently registered WSU students navigate how to apply for state benefits such as food subsidies (SNAP benefits), rental, cash, childcare and utility assistance. They are located in the Welcome Center, room 252.
Conner Center hours: Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding State holidays)
May-July hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (Where to Get Help)
Homelessness can happen to anyone with many households just three paychecks away from losing their home. While MCAH does not provide direct services, we encourage you to work with a provider in your area and hope we can guide you as you seek assistance to stay in your home or find new housing.
The W Food Pantry-The W Food Pantry is dedicated to enhancing the lives of currently enrolled students at Wayne State University by providing resources that include but are not limited to food along with various feminine hygiene products and toiletries. It is located at 703 W. Kirby Detroit, MI 4820. For more information call 313-577-0154 from 3:30 "" 8:00 p.m. or 313-577-1010.

Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit- For over 95 years, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit has been a leader in making a difference in people's lives by helping them find work, hope and pride in their life and in their career. Goodwill delivers many services and programs based on the needs of those they serve.
National Coalition for the Homeless- The National Coalition for the Homeless is a national network of people who are currently experiencing or who have experienced homelessness, activists and advocates, community-based and faith-based service providers, and others committed to a single mission: To prevent and end homelessness while ensuring the immediate needs of those experiencing homelessness are met and their civil rights protected.
Covenant House Michigan- Covenant House Michigan is a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides hope to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth ages 18-24. We provide shelter, educational and vocational programs, as well as other support services, to help overcome hurdles such as homelessness, unemployment, inadequate education, violence, drugs and gangs. Our goal is to redirect them onto a path toward meaningful and successful adulthood.
Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries- DRMM is a faith-based, non-profit organization, recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has devoted a wealth of resources to meet the basic needs of humanity while motivating individuals to rebuild their lives, one life at a time. Services offered include meals, housing, treatment, and more.
Coalition on Temporary Shelter- COTS, (Coalition of Temporary Shelter), exists to alleviate homelessness by providing an array of services that enable people to achieve self-sufficiency and obtain quality affordable housing. COTS also exists to advocate for long term solutions to the problems of homelessness. Since 1982, COTS has been committed to serving the most vulnerable members of the Detroit community with a rich continuum of programs and services that empower people. COTS is proud to report measureable results of the agency's efforts.
The National Network For Youth - Public education and policy advocacy organization dedicated to the prevention and eradication of youth homelessness in America for over 40 years.
The President's Commission on the Status of Women (COSW)- The COSW advises Wayne State University's Office of the President and the larger campus community on issues facing women students, staff, faculty, and alumni including gender equity and equality, social justice, and intersectionality. The Commission advocates for women through programming, university service, outreach, research, and policy recommendations.
WSU Academic Success Center - The mission of the Academic Success Center (ASC) is to ensure that all Wayne State University students become self-determined, motivated and independent learners. We accomplish this through instruction and services that support students' development of skills to achieve academic excellence.
WSU Student Disability Services - Student Disability Services works to create inclusive academic environments by promoting the construct of universal design throughout the university. To this end, SDS provides academic accommodations, resources and training in assistive technology, and information to foster understanding of disability throughout the university community.
Cass Community Social Services - Cass Community Social Services is Detroit-based agency dedicated to providing food, housing, health services, and job programs.
Free Legal Aid Clinic - The Free Legal Aid Clinic is a student-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, legal aid organization established by Wayne Law students in 1965. For more than 50 years, we have provided Wayne County's elderly and indigent populations with quality legal representation
Capuchin Soup Kitchen - Offers multiple programs including meal programs, substance abuse treatment, job opportunities at the "On the Rise Bakery", children's programs, spiritual care, and more.
Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan - A regional business and non-profit collaborative coordinating Southeastern Michigan community outreach and pro-bono partnerships for advocacy, education, and resources of human survival. Abused and homeless individuals, children, seniors and those with life-challenging illness can sometimes qualify to receive services free of charge.
Detroit Action Commonwealth - A a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization. DAC develops individual and collective power to promote opportunity, advance justice, and challenge and change root causes of poverty and homelessness.
