The HIGH Program has aided me in succeeding this semester (Winter 2014). By relieved me of a portion of the financial burden for this semester, I was able to focus on getting the grades I knew I could attain. Tuition and books set up obstacles, especially for the low income student. Poverty creates dire conditions for students to endure. The HIGH Program helped me realize that there is a community and resources to help people through school and bettering their lives. I truly commend First Lady Jacqueline Wilson and the staff and supporters of the HIGH Program for giving Wayne State University such a unique asset. I only hope to learn and replicate the lessons and values I have learned from the inclusive and fostering HIGH community.
