WSU HIGH Program thanks Shangri-La Restaurant for support

The Wayne State University Helping Individuals Go Higher program would like to thank Midtown's Shangri-La Restaurant for their gift card contributions this past week. This kind and generous act helps inspire HIGH Program students, as well as those whose lives they touch through their careers, research and community involvement.

Established in 2013 by First Lady, Mrs. Jaqueline Wilson, the WSU HIGH Program seeks to provide financially conflicted students with the basic necessities of life including food, shelter, and clothing in addition to tuition scholarships and childcare assistance.

Thanks to the support of local restaurants and businesses, such as Shangri-La Restaurant, the WSU HIGH Program is able to continue its mission of helping students succeed in achieving their degree from the university. In fact, this kind of support is most often the difference between drop-out and graduation for the students this program serves.

Shangri-La's offers a complete menu of gourmet, authentic Chinese and Cantonese cuisine as well as other delectable dishes inspired by owner Cholada Chan's Thailand birthplace, all found on their website midtownshangri-la.com.

It is the support of the local Detroit community that helps make a real difference in the lives of Wayne State's more needy students.
