SLOWS Bar-B-Q Gives to WSU HIGH Program
Featured in the television show Man vs. Food and Travel Channel's Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America, Slows Bar-B-Q recently gave gift cards in support of the Wayne State University HIGH Program which serves hungry, homeless, disadvantaged students.
Established in 2013, The HIGH Program (Helping Individuals Go Higher) offers countless resources to students including housing support, tuition relief, food, clothing and child care services. The students this program aids are working hard each day to better their lives with a college education. Because of supporters like Slows Bar-B-Q of Detroit, the HIGH Program is able to provide undergraduate and graduate students with a delicious, hot meal just in time for finals week. Thank you Slows Bar-B-Q for making a real difference and showing these students local care and support!
Situated in Corktown Historic District of Detroit, Slows Bar-B-Q is well renowned for their slow cooked meats, array of barbeque sauces to choose from and hearty sides like pit smoked beans and mac-n-cheese. Please visit their website slowsbarbq.com to learn more.
If you are a local restaurant or business and would like to be featured on our website, please contact the WSU HIGH Program at (313) 577-9933 or email us at WSUHighProgram@wayne.edu to make a donation.
Help us give students the confidence of knowing the local Detroit community cares and wants to see them succeed!
