J. Douglas Peters Continues his Support of Wayne State by Donating to the HIGH Program
Giving to Wayne State University is nothing new for J. Douglas Peters. Whether it be monetary or volunteered time, Peters has been helping Wayne State for years. As a malpractice attorney, helping others was in his nature since he started practicing law in 1975. Although his professional career has focused on helping others as a lawyer, Peters more recently retired to pursue his other passion, painting- an arena where he has also seen success for over 30 years.
The WSU HIGH Program has a mission save students from abandoning their goals of earning a degree solely because of housing or financial challenges. As a program, we reach out to other student run organizations, local restaurants, and businesses to find ways to continue to push towards our goal. Since its inception in 2013, our program has assisted over 175 students achieve their dream of graduating. It is the Helping Individuals Go Higher Program's hope to empower students emerged in current financial conflicts by lending them a helping hand, directing them to their future.
